How do you charge for your design services?
As a professional design company, we shall work only for a fee, a royalty, salary or other agreed-upon form of compensation. Clients should be aware that reasonable handling and administration charges may be added, with the knowledge and understanding of the client, as a percentage to all reimbursable items, billable to a client, that pass through the designer’s account.
Once the Agreement for Design Services has been agreed and signed by both client and designer, works will begin as outlined and scheduled. The Client will be required to secure the "Design Service" purchase with a payment equal to 50% of invoice total. The remaining balance is required upon project delivery. This is standard practice among many service providers and is considered "a deposit". Existing clients with a positive credit rating and payment track record may avail of our 30 day credit period, subject to Terms and Conditions.
Fees
If we are charging for our services on a fixed-fee basis, the total amount will be specified in the body of the proposal.
Taxes
The client is responsible for any applicable sales tax / VAT.
Expenses and additional costs
Every project will involve at least a few expenses. They may be small like reimbursements for photocopies or taxi rides, or they may be large like the purchase of photography. The client will be informed exactly how project expenses will be handled and whether or not estimated amounts for those expenses have been included in our proposal.
Invoices
Project billings should be stated in the body of the proposal, and can be based on phases or milestones, or they can be weekly or monthly.
Payment terms
Full payment is due within a certain number of days, counting from the day that the invoice was issued. For example “Net 30” means that the client must get full payment to Design Joint within 30 days from issue date.
What types of payment do you accept?
